Kleins Kitchen’s strong position in catering for schools and senior care facilities marks an important addition to Reledo’s growing service offering.
Kleins Kitchen was founded in 1999 by Lotta and Tomas Klein with the ambition of preparing and serving varied, nutritious school meals, placing a strong emphasis on fresh, plant-based ingredients while offering pupils greater choice—more akin to a restaurant experience.
Today, the company serves customers across the Greater Stockholm area from 14 production kitchens. Since 2021, Kleins Kitchen has also prepared meals for senior care facilities from its dedicated kitchen in Sköndal, south of Stockholm. The company’s philosophy is simple: food should be freshly prepared, tailored to customers’ needs and full of flavour.
Since its inception, the company’s employees have been at the heart of its success. Today, more than 100 team members prepare and serve around 25,000 lunches every day to over 80 schools and senior care facilities.
“Becoming part of Reledo allows us to continue developing Kleins Kitchen while staying true to the philosophy and entrepreneurial spirit that have shaped the company from the very beginning. At the same time, we gain the opportunity to collaborate within a larger group alongside some of the industry's leading businesses,” says Elisabeth Aronsson, CEO of Kleins Kitchen.
“Kleins Kitchen is an outstanding, well-managed company with extensive experience and strong expertise. This acquisition strengthens and broadens Reledo’s service offering in Sweden. We are delighted to welcome Elisabeth and the entire Kleins Kitchen team to Reledo, and we look forward to continuing our journey together,” says Jonas Warnander, Group CEO of Reledo.
The transaction is expected to close during February, subject to customary regulatory approvals from the relevant authorities.
